I’ve been teaching for six years and this was my first experience with Dance and Movement Workshop. I wish I attended when I first started teaching. I learned so much about dance through common core and how other dance teachers structure their classrooms. As a high school dance teacher, I feel alone because I do not have the opportunity to collaborate with other dance teachers. I loved networking, sharing ideas, and taking class from master teachers. This was a great experience and I look forward to coming back again year after year. I now feel refreshed to start a new school year.

I started coming to Dance and Movement workshop in the early ’90s and was amazed at the support and from all the teachers. I was a sponge. I sat and absorbed all there was to learn from the faculty and the participants/teachers. The stories, scenarios, dance technique, choreography, teaching strategies that I have learned over the now 15+ years has been a wealth of information. Because of this workshop I have become a better teacher and my students have benefited from all this knowledge.

Dance and Movement Workshop has changed who I am as a dance educator in so many positive ways. Each year I attend Dance and Movement Workshop and experience a variety of classes that educate and inspire what I teach and how I teach it. The passion and love for dance by all those who attend this workshop encourages me to be a better educator and let’s me share my joy for dance as well. I don’t know how I would make it through my school year without Dance and Movement Workshop!
Sara Dickman, Dance Teacher
There isn’t another workshop out there like Dance & Movement. The teachers are incredible, and there are so many options when it comes to classes. I leave with material that has me ready, excited and inspired for another school year. However, the thing that keeps me coming back, year after year, are the friendships and bonds created with other educators who share a passion for what we do. For many of us, this is the only time we get to collaborate and share with other dance educators.

The Dance and Movement Workshop for Educators is a perfect example of high-quality professional development in dance education. This intensive-style workshop is open to all dance teachers and is presented in a welcoming and non-competitive environment. I will continue to attend the workshop each year in order to learn and grow as a dance teacher; and to make connections with international dance educators and professionals.

Dance and Movement is everything a Dance Educator could want in a conference. I have found the classes extremely helpful in planning for my own students and helping me to grow as a dancer as well. Every year I have gone, I have used the choreography, warm-up ideas, teaching ideas, and inspiration for the upcoming year. I have found it helpful for networking with other dance educators, both formally through share sessions and informally over lunch or in the evening socializing. These fellow teachers continue to be a resource throughout the year. I only wish that I had discovered this conference earlier in my career.
