Any one with a recent memory of dance education in California is probably aware that Greta Weatherill, dance mentor extraordinaire, passed away in June 1989. Her passing was a loss not only to her family, but also to many educators from all areas of California. It became clear that her interest and influence in the field of dance education was that of a lifelong commitment and accordingly, a memorial award has been instituted in her name. The award may be used for: (a) Seed money for dance projects in the community, (b) Furthering ones dance education; (c) Defraying expenses for dance productions; (d) Research in dance; (e) Payment for master teacher. These are suggestions only and applicants are encouraged to adapt ideas according to individual needs.
